Kathleen P. Macy Ph.D. is an experienced and successful leader.  As a  teacher, secondary and elementary principal, deputy superintendent and superintendent, Kathleen has demonstrated her skills in a variety of public educational settings. In addition to being a school leader, she has been a coach, mediator, negotiator, public speaker, technical editor, writer and Executive Vice President of a private company.

She is a 2004 Fulbright Superintendent Fellow and has been recognized in national print and multi-media presentations for effective future-oriented leadership.

A continuous learner, she has benefited from the training of respected individuals such as Peter Senge and Jim Collins as well as highly regraded organizations such as the Mediation Center and Carlson School of Business.  As a scholarship attendee at the Master's Forum for a decade, her perspective and understanding of the business arena was broadened by leaders in the national and international business community.

Kathleen uses her varied and rich experience to recruit, train, and develop leaders with the capacity to build aligned organizational systems focused on the improving the achievement of all students. Kathleen has provided leadership “under fire” by strategically aligning organizational systems, mediating conflict, cultivating shared values, and nurturing a strong culture characteristic of resilient, adaptive organizations.  She builds upon history while looking to the future to serve with an enlightened temporal perspective.

Advocating for and supporting the first one-to-one, building-wide laptop computing initiative in the State of Minnesota provided teachers and students the tools to make significant and meaningful changes in their teaching and learning.  The fruits of this initiative are being seen throughout the learning community as those first “digital natives” are graduating from high school in 2007 with portfolios of student designed commercials, public service television presentations, original music scores, integrated literature presentations, scientific experiment presentations, their own successful businesses, and most importantly the confidence and skill to embrace the challenges of the future.

Kathleen has served as an advisor to foundtion boards and has served on local service organization boards as well as the national Northwest Evaluation Association Board of Directors.  All have provided her with valuable perspectives useful to community service and business organizations.

Throughout her career Kathleen has consistently focused upon building the capacity of people across all levels of an organization or enterprise.  Her greatest satisfaction is derived from the growth and development of leaders as she assists them in setting results targets and achieving their personal and organizational goals.
